Disney California Adventure - Leaning Tower of Tyres Installed…
@Disneyland
Disney has released a new video showing the installation of a leaning tower of tyres in Cars Land, the major new expansion that will open at Disney California Adventure in summer 2012.
The tyres have been installed in front of Luigi’s Casa della Tires, a recreation of the mechanic’s shop seen in Pixar’s Cars movies. Luigi’s tyre yard will be the home of Luigi’s Flying Tyre, a new attraction based on the classic Flying Saucers ride that operated at sister park Disneyland from 1961 to 1966.

Amy Mebberson all but INSISTED that I draw the Batmobiles in the World of Cars. That’s a pretty straightforward assignment, just draw the Batmobile and put some eyes on it. Except that the Tumbler is a pretty difficult car to get right. Okay then! Tiime to go to the toy store! Thanks, Amy, this one’s for you.

I was so excited when I found the R that I decided to find the rest of the alphabet (fun, right?). Unfortunately, the Pixar Alphabet Project has only made R and L…so that will have to do for now.
Starting Friday (8/19/11) the United States Postal Service will be selling five new stamps featuring some of the most beloved characters from movies made by Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney.
The five stamps (a first-class stamp sells for 44 cents these days) feature:
● Lightning McQueen and Mater from “Cars”
● Remy the rat and Linguini from “Ratatouille”
● Buzz Lightyear and two aliens from “Toy Story”
● Carl Fredricksen and Dug from “Up”
● Wall•E the robot from “Wall•E”
The Postal Service is calling the stamps its “Send a Hello” series. The stamps follow the “Art of Disney series which was sold from 2004 to 2008. Because the Pixar characters are “unlikely heroes who explore the bonds of friendship and family . . . the stamps [are meant to] encourage people to connect with their loved ones through the mail,” Roy Betts, a Postal Service spokesman told us.
The Postal Service apparently expects LOTS of people to do just that: It’s printing 200 million of the stamps!
If anyone is looking for a little present for a hopelessly addicted Pixar lover, this might just be your ticket to their heart (hint, hint; nudge, nudge)
