I cleaned out my purse today and found a bunch of seashells??
Since I posted my buddy Minkyu’s portfolio last week, I thought it only fair that I share mine as well.
Mark Andrews and Ken Bruce reviewed this portfolio when I applied for the Pixar story internship back in 2005. Ken’s response: “Your parents are divorced, aren’t they?” Me: “Uh…yeah.” Ken: “Don’t worry, you’ll get over it.”
I didn’t get the internship.

Earlier this week I found out that I got five pieces into this year’s Society of Illustrator show which is very very exciting. Also, I realized I had never posted the winning paintings anywhere before.
This series was started while I was still in France, fascinated by the apathetic teenagers I would see, French or simply visiting, who couldn’t care less about whatever priceless one-of-a-kind rusty dusty piece of art they were being dragged along to stare at. For me, everything was exciting, new, gorgeous, life affirming in the cheesiest way but I’d inevitably walk past the tween having the worst day of his/her short 14 year old life.
I’ll post here when the exhibit opens and for those in New York for the month of January, you’ll get a chance to see these (and a slew of other AMAZING pieces) at the Society.
The truth comes out….
…. now everyone will know who ACTUALLY directed The Croods

Okay, I love being an animation major and all, but I literally can’t watch anything animated without thinking about how they did it, why they did it the way they did, how I would have done it, what program they used to do it, etc… and it gives me a headache and I have to watch animated things multiple times before I can just watch them and enjoy them.
Switching between traditional and digital media is the hardest because I’ll be painting a picture and make a mistake and go to hit control z to undo and hit nothing but air or I’ll erase on my tablet and brush the invisible eraser shavings away but either way I look like a crazy person
Ugh, all my concepts for a film are so dark, I just wanna have lots of gags and rubber hose arms is that too much to ask?
All I want for Christmas is a senior film idea
Woo, finished a painting I have been working on since September
Wow, super heart broken that the site that had Pug Davis in it’s entirety is gone.
